This case is part of the Giving Voice to Values (GVV) curriculum. To see other material in the GVV curriculum, please visit http://store.darden.virginia.edu/giving-voice-to-values. In this case, a student finds herself struggling with extremes of competitiveness in her "Foundations of Management and Entrepreneurship" (FME) class. Although she and her fellow team members are supportive of each other, her team displays an embarrassing amount of negativity toward one other team in the class, jeopardizing a mutually beneficial collaboration opportunity. She believes that it is possible to compete and collaborate with the other FME team in a positive, fair way, but isn't sure how to help bring her team around to the idea. This case works well in entrepreneurship, organizational behavior, human resource management, management communications, general management, and ethics courses, as well as in stand-alone workshops.
